Property in Costa Blanca

The is one of the main tourist destinations on the Mediterranean and one of the areas most sought-after by foreign buyers who wish to purchase a property in Spain.

The Costa Blanca is divided into two large areas: north and south; and depending on the area chosen, the type of property may vary. Northern Costa Blanca has a more exclusive range of real estate on offer, whilst Southern Costa Blanca area property prices are lower, due to the greater availability of land. Moreover, within these areas themselves, the range of properties on offer may also vary depending on how close they are to the coast. Normally, most of the properties for sale beside the sea are apartments, whilst in residential areas further inland (at a maximum distance of between 2 to 10 km from the coast) people buying property on the Costa Blanca usually prefer villas and townhouses.

The Costa Blanca´s leading position in the world as a preferred destination for residential tourism is easily explicable if we consider its more than 240 km of coastline, full of white-sand beaches, paradisiacal coves, and spectacular cliffs, some 2800 hours of sunlight per year, an average annual temperature of 19ºC, and modern infrastructures.

In Northern Costa Blanca, with a more mountainous landscape, there is a predominance of cliffs and coves, and the residential areas offer exceptional panoramic views of the sea. The best-known city in this area is Benidorm, but the towns of Altea, Villajoyosa, Calpe and Denia are also very popular. In the Southern Costa Blanca the landscape is mainly flat, characterised by palm-tree groves and long white-sand beaches. Its main towns are Santa Pola, Guardamar, Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa.
